Every August 12th, we celebrate International Youth Day, a moment to recognize the vital role that adolescents and young people play in building a more just, compassionate, and sustainable world.
At the Rafa Nadal Foundation, we work every day with children and adolescents who, despite facing vulnerable circumstances, hold immense potential within themselves — potential to learn, to grow, to dream, and to transform their surroundings. Because young people are not only the future: they are an active and essential part of the present in our communities.
At our centers in Palma, Valencia, and Madrid, we create spaces where teenagers can develop their talents, express their ideas, and strengthen their self-esteem and sense of belonging. We do this through key tools like sport, emotional education, and psychological support — foundations that help them grow into autonomous, committed individuals capable of leading positive change.
We know that when a young person feels heard and supported, they begin to believe in themselves. And when they believe in themselves, they begin to believe they can change their reality — and that of others.
That’s why on this International Youth Day, we want to raise our voices with and for them. We believe in a youth that is active, aware, and engaged — one that doesn’t settle for what is, but dares to imagine and build what could be.
Today we celebrate every young person who chooses to care, contribute, propose, and improve. In them lies the energy the world needs to move forward.
