MORE THAN A DECADE OF VALUABLE PARTNERSHIP: THE RAFA NADAL FOUNDATION AND ROBINSON CALA SERENA, UNITED FOR A FUTURE OF QUALITY

The Rafa Nadal Foundation and Robinson Cala Serena strengthen their valuable partnership with the successful charity golf tournament held annually at Club Vall d’Or Golf in Mallorca.

This sporting event, known as the Robinson Classic Golf Tournament, has proven to be a powerful tool for raising funds to support the projects of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, transforming the lives of children and teenagers through sports and education.

A €130,000 Donation and Over Half a Million Raised Since 2013

Recently, the Rafa Nadal Foundation received a symbolic check for €130,000, representing the funds raised during the last edition of the Robinson Classic in August 2024. This amount brings the total funds raised in recent editions to over half a million euros, reinforcing the positive impact of the tournament.

The success of this event reflects the commitment of Robinson Cala Serena, as well as the participants and supporters who make this charity event possible. Each edition of the tournament is an opportunity to combine sports and solidarity in an extraordinary setting, directly contributing to initiatives aimed at reducing inequalities and improving access to opportunities for the more than 1,400 beneficiaries the foundation serves each year.

A Tradition of Solidarity: Robinson Classic Golf Tournament

The Robinson Classic Golf Tournament, which celebrated its 34th edition in 2024, has become one of the most anticipated charity events of the summer in Mallorca for the Rafa Nadal Foundation.

During a special weekend in August, Club Vall d’Or Golf transforms into the epicenter of solidarity and sport, bringing together dozens of golf players for a common cause.

This year’s edition featured the participation of Rafael Nadal himself and an atmosphere reflecting the shared values of the Rafa Nadal Foundation and Robinson Cala Serena: commitment, effort, teamwork, and dedication. In addition to the tournament, attendees enjoyed a lunch, a high-end product auction, and an award ceremony for the winners.

The Impact of Solidarity in Numbers and Actions

The funds raised at the Robinson Classic go entirely to the Rafa Nadal Foundation’s projects, which aim to transform the lives of vulnerable children and adolescents in Spain and India.

For over 15 years, these projects have contributed to achieving four of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which define their key areas of impact:

  • Good Health and Well-being
  • Quality Education
  • Reduced Inequalities
  • Partnerships for the Goals

Among the foundation’s flagship projects are the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centers in Palma, Valencia, and Madrid, where more than 450 children per year receive comprehensive support through sports, education, and psychosocial activities. Other notable programs include:

  • Más Que Tenis, which promotes the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities through regular tennis practice.
  • NETS (Nadal Educational Tennis School), which provides tennis training, English, and IT classes to 250 children per year in rural areas of India.
  • Play All, which grants access to tennis to 150 children and teenagers from vulnerable areas in Barcelona every year.

The partnership between the Rafa Nadal Foundation and Robinson Cala Serena not only supports these programs but also raises awareness about the transformative power of sports and education. This collaboration is a powerful example of how joining forces can make a real difference in the lives of the most vulnerable.

Looking to the Future with Optimism

With the Robinson Classic being one of the most significant fundraising events for the Rafa Nadal Foundation, the organization remains committed to creating a better world for future generations.

Its partnership with Robinson Cala Serena ensures that this tournament continues to be a driving force for positive change and a model to follow for similar initiatives.
