THE RAFA NADAL FOUNDATION AND WEMP FOUNDATION JOIN FORCES TO SUPPORT THE HOLISTIC WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN WITH A CHARITY GALA IN HONG KONG

The WEMP Foundation and the Rafa Nadal Foundation are pleased to announce in Hong Kong their partnership to support the holistic well-being of children and youth worldwide.

Dr. Adrian Cheng, founder of the WEMP Foundation, and Rafael Nadal, founder of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, will co-host “The Children Ball — A Night of Hope, Strength, and Inspiration,” a fundraising gala taking place on Friday, October 24th at the Rosewood Hong Kong.

Together, they are reimagining geographical boundaries with a shared mission to create an inclusive world for all children and adolescents.

Millions of children and young people lack access to safe spaces where they can learn, grow, and thrive. By joining forces, the two organizations seek to “break down barriers” in underserved communities, leveraging “sport and play” as transformative tools for “education, mental health support, and empowerment.”

Dr. Adrian Cheng has invited Rafael Nadal to co-host The Children Ball 2025.

Their collaboration began with the launch of the first and only Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre in Asia, under the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, in Hong Kong. Dr. Cheng and Rafael Nadal share a profound commitment to the cause, convinced that investing in children’s well-being is essential to building a better future for society.

This partnership not only highlights their shared values but also underscores the importance of community involvement in philanthropic efforts.

“Hong Kong is poised to become a global philanthropic hub, with a robust financial infrastructure and over 10,000 tax-exempt charitable organizations in the city. We are thrilled to host the second edition of The Children Ball alongside the Rafa Nadal Foundation tonight,” stated Dr. Adrian Cheng, founder of the WEMP Foundation and co-host of The Children Ball 2025.

“By partnering with a like-minded philanthropic foundation from Spain, our collaboration demonstrates how friendship can be scaled to generate global impact. The event not only celebrates WEMP’s achievements as Hong Kong’s largest foundation promoting children’s mental well-being, with the city’s most extensive school programs, but also reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a profound social impact on children’s mental health. We sincerely appreciate the support of our partners and look forward to consolidating Hong Kong’s position as a leading hub for philanthropy.”

“It is a pleasure to collaborate with Adrian again, following our joint work to launch the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre Hong Kong. We both believe we have a responsibility to be a voice for the next generation. We are committed to using sport to enhance the well-being of young people around the world,” commented Rafael Nadal, founder of the Rafa Nadal Foundation.

“Holistic well-being is the powerful balance between physical activity, personal growth, and emotional resilience. We strive to unlock the potential of children and adolescents through sport, education, and mentorship.”

United by a common belief in the importance of children’s health and well-being, Dr. Adrian Cheng and Rafa Nadal, together with their foundations, will continue to work towards building a more sustainable philanthropic ecosystem that benefits both recipients and society at large.
