The Rafa Nadal Foundation has been recognized by the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) at the 2nd COE Sustainability Awards, in the category SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, for its outstanding efforts in promoting social inclusion through sport and education.

The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 6, at the COE headquarters in Madrid, as part of the 5th Sport Sustainability Summit, an annual event that brings together representatives from the world of sports, businesses, and institutions to share progress and best practices in social, environmental, and economic sustainability.

The Rafa Nadal Foundation was honored for its commitment to equal opportunities and its strong belief in sport as a tool for social integration. Eunate Gómez, Project Manager at the Foundation, accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

“We are proud to receive this award, which reinforces our conviction that sport and education are powerful drivers of social transformation that foster equality and inclusion,” said the Foundation’s representative before the ceremony.

In addition to the Rafa Nadal Foundation, the COE recognized other organizations in various categories linked to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among the awardees were Fundación Vicente Ferrer (SDG 1: No Poverty), World Central Kitchen (SDG 2: Zero Hunger), Gasol Foundation (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being), UCAM (SDG 4: Quality Education), and Iberdrola (SDG 5: Gender Equality), among others.

Through these awards, the Spanish Olympic Committee seeks to acknowledge and highlight entities that actively contribute to sustainable and responsible development, both within and beyond the field of sport.

According to the COE, “these initiatives embody the spirit of Olympism and its commitment to a fairer, more equitable, and more sustainable future for all.”

The Rafa Nadal Foundation focuses its efforts on programs that promote the personal and social development of children and young people in vulnerable situations through sport and education. Its comprehensive approach and positive impact on reducing inequalities have been key factors in earning this recognition.
