An unforgettable day at the Hexagon Cup for the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Madrid

Sport has the power to inspire, bring people together and open up new learning opportunities when it is experienced first-hand. This is exactly what the children, teenagers and families from the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Madrid experienced when they attended a day of the Hexagon Cup, one of the most innovative and spectacular padel competitions on the sports scene.

In total, 119 people from the centre were able to enjoy this unique experience, sharing a different kind of day at sports facilities that are very special to them: the same ones where they train and practise physical activity throughout the year, located in the San Fermín neighbourhood, the area all the children we support come from: La Caja Mágica.

What is the Hexagon Cup?

The Hexagon Cup is an international padel competition that brings together some of the best players in the world, organised into teams that combine talent, entertainment and innovation. Beyond its high sporting level, it stands out for its dynamic format, vibrant atmosphere and its ability to bring professional padel closer to all audiences, turning each day into a true celebration of sport.

Experiencing sport from the inside

Attending a competition of this level is an extraordinary opportunity for our boys and girls. Seeing sporting role models up close, observing how they prepare, how they compete and how they manage pressure, effort and teamwork, provides learning that goes far beyond the final score.

During the day, the children enjoyed the competitive atmosphere, the excitement of every point and the respect shown between athletes—values that are part of everyday life at the centre and that they were able to recognise in a professional sporting context. For many of them, it was also a source of motivation to continue practising sport.

Learning and sharing as a family

The experience was especially meaningful because it was shared with families and the centre’s educational team. Taking part in activities like this strengthens bonds, creates positive memories and reinforces the sense of community that defines the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Madrid.

For families, attending a sporting event of this kind is also a learning opportunity: seeing how sport can be an educational tool, a space for connection and a driver for values such as respect, perseverance, self-improvement and teamwork.

Growing together, on and off the court

Stepping outside the usual environment and sharing high-quality sporting experiences together is a special part of the centre’s educational project. These days help to strengthen trust, foster a sense of belonging and reinforce the idea of sport as a shared, accessible and transformative space.

We would like to give special thanks to the Hexagon Cup and the Rafa Nadal Academy team, who kindly provided the tickets that allowed us to attend this very special day. Thank you for making it possible and for helping our children and families continue to grow, learn and dream through sport.

Because when sport is experienced as a team, its impact is even greater.
