Fun and Competition at the 2nd “More than Tennis” Inter-School Day

Fun and Competition at the 2nd “More than Tennis” Inter-School Day

On May 31st, we joyfully celebrated the 2nd edition of the “More than Tennis” Inter-School Day at the Juan de la Cierva Sports Complex in Getafe (Madrid). It was an unforgettable day that brought together 30 athletes and 9 coaches from different Autonomous Communities, with schools from Madrid, Castilla y León, Castilla–La Mancha, Asturias and Aragón participating.

This non-competitive event, organized as part of the More than Tennis program, aimed primarily to promote interaction, motivation, and participation among our athletes — especially those who have not yet had the chance to take part in the annual National Gathering held at the Rafa Nadal Academy.

The day began at 10:00 a.m. with the arrival of participants, followed by sports activities starting at 10:30 a.m. Groups were organized according to their ITN level, and individual skill challenges were also held for those in the lower levels.

At 1:00 p.m., the sports portion of the event concluded, followed by a fun closing ceremony and medal presentation, recognizing the effort and enthusiasm of all participants. Afterwards, we shared lunch together in a warm, friendly atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration.

We would like to thank the schools for their participation and commitment:

✅ Madrid (A la Par and Getafe)

✅ Castilla–La Mancha

✅ Castilla y León

✅ Aragón

✅Asturias

This day was a clear example that More than Tennis is about much more than just training or competing. It’s also about sharing, connecting, and continuing to grow together.

Thanks to Special Olympics Spain, and everyone who made this day possible. Let’s keep building great experiences together!
