THE THIRD CALL FOR THE RAFA NADAL FOUNDATION AWARDS, DRIVEN BY TELEFÓNICA, KICKS OFF AND IS PRESENTED AT THE MOVISTAR SPACE IN MADRID

• With the backing of Telefónica, the Rafa Nadal Foundation launches the third edition of its awards.

• These awards aim to support projects from non-profit organizations that work to improve the quality of life for vulnerable groups.

• The awards will recognize social entities in five different categories: sports and education, social innovation, health and well-being, development cooperation, and as a new addition in this edition, environmental action.

In an event filled with enthusiasm, the Rafa Nadal Foundation has kicked off the third edition of the “Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards.” The presentation was held at the Movistar Space in Madrid, with the presence of representatives from the Rafa Nadal Foundation, Telefónica, and the Lealtad Foundation, as well as the special participation of the Miradas Foundation, who were awarded in the Social Innovation category in the second edition of the awards.

Rafael Fernández de Alarcón, Global Marketing Director of Telefónica, opened the event by highlighting the significant collaboration between Telefónica and the Rafa Nadal Foundation. He emphasized the impact of these awards in the third sector and their relevance to society as a whole, underlining how this partnership helps promote social well-being.

María Francisca Perelló, director of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, expressed great emotion regarding the goal of these awards and especially thanked Telefónica for its essential support. She also highlighted the fundamental role of the Lealtad Foundation in the technical management and evaluation of the applications, as well as the inspiring example of the Miradas Foundation, winners of the Social Innovation category of the second edition of the awards.

During her speech, María Francisca Perelló officially launched the third edition of the Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards and called on all organizations to submit their projects and continue working together to build a more inclusive and just society.

María Eugenia Larregola, representative of the Lealtad Foundation, detailed the evaluation and selection process for the applications, encouraging all organizations to participate in the awards and submit their initiatives. She also highlighted several new features of this edition, which is aimed at micro, small, and medium-sized entities, and includes a new environmental action category.

Simona Palacios, President of the Miradas Foundation, shared her experience and the impact of their work this year with the BBMiradas project, a program for monitoring the development, detection, and intervention of autism in babies aged 4 to 36 months.

The event concluded with a Q&A session from the media and attendees regarding the new call for the awards.

The Rafa Nadal Foundation thanked all attendees and collaborators for their participation in the event and encouraged third sector organizations to get involved in the third edition of the Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards.
