Its <strong>ninth edition<\/strong>, held at CaixaForum Seville, brought together more than <strong>400 representatives of foundations and social entities<\/strong> to debate, share experiences and establish alliances under the theme <strong>\u201cBorders of Philanthropy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reflecting on the challenges of philanthropy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the sessions, participants were invited to reflect on the <strong>new challenges of philanthropy<\/strong> in an international context marked by uncertainty, armed conflicts, and social and economic challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the <strong>opening session<\/strong>, <strong>Pilar Garc\u00eda Ceballos<\/strong>, President of the AEF and promoter of the forum, recalled that the essence of the work of foundations is to &#8220;overcome limits and gaps&#8221; and emphasized the value of <strong>collective philanthropy<\/strong>: &#8220;It cannot be conceived as isolated acts, but as common efforts that respond to a shared purpose.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" Sim\u00f3n<\/strong>, Deputy Director of Fundaci\u00f3n \u201cla Caixa,\u201d thanked all the foundations present and highlighted that in an unequal world, their role is \u201cirreplaceable\u201d because they are able to \u201cstand alongside difficulties and address society\u2019s challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also speaking were <strong>Carolina Espa\u00f1a<\/strong>, Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds of the Regional Government of Andalusia, who stressed the agility and flexibility of social entities in the region; and <strong>Pedro Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>, Government Delegate in Andalusia, who closed the event highlighting the need for philanthropy and public action to work in a complementary way to <strong>multiply social impact<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Debates and thematic panels<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Foro Demos 2025 not only offered a space for institutional reflection but also hosted <strong>dialogue panels and specialized workshops<\/strong> addressing key issues for the future of the foundation sector:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Connecting opportunities through philanthropy<\/strong>, with the participation of <strong>Fundaci\u00f3 La Ciutat Invisible<\/strong> and <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Banco Sabadell<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Artificial intelligence in the foundation sector<\/strong>, focusing on ethical and operational applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Early school leaving in Spain<\/strong>, one of the major social challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>International organizations facing global change<\/strong>, with interventions from <strong>Philanthropy Europe Association (Philea)<\/strong>, the <strong>United MOEVE<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Philanthropy in the face of natural disasters<\/strong>, recalling the impact of the DANA storm in Valencia a year later, with <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Horta Sud<\/strong>, <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Felisa<\/strong>, <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Colisee<\/strong>, among others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Economic sustainability: driving change through philanthropy<\/strong>, with contributions from <strong>Calala Women\u2019s Fund<\/strong> and <strong>Ashoka<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>AI applied to people with disabilities<\/strong>, with the participation of <strong>ONCE<\/strong>, <strong>Plena Inclusi\u00f3n Madrid<\/strong>, <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n GMP<\/strong>, <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n MAPFRE<\/strong>, and others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Employability in Spain, present and future<\/strong>, with the participation of <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Santa Mar\u00eda la Real<\/strong>, <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Endesa<\/strong>, <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n Repsol<\/strong>, and <strong>Fundaci\u00f3n BBVA<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Parallel rooms also hosted practical workshops on <strong>just transition<\/strong>, the <strong>DEMOS artistic book<\/strong>, <strong>team dynamics<\/strong>, and the exploration of AI tools such as <strong>ChatGPT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forum concluded with the presentation of a <strong>Thesaurus of Philanthropy<\/strong>, promoted by <strong>Marta Rey<\/strong> and <strong>Isabel Pe\u00f1alosa<\/strong>, two leading figures in the sector who have developed this digital resource as a \u201ctreasure map\u201d to unify key concepts and better understand what philanthropy is and its impact on society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery commitment to <strong>synergies and knowledge exchange<\/strong> with other organizations in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The presence of <strong>Fani Ginard, Jose Ruiz and Isa P\u00e9rez<\/strong> strengthened the Foundation\u2019s ties with other organizations and showcased its experience in promoting <strong>equal opportunities for children and young people in vulnerable situations<\/strong> sector in Spain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the meeting in Seville was consolidated as a <strong>\u201cdecisive space for the future of foundations\u201d<\/strong>, in a global context full of
