The boys and girls of the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center in Valencia have practiced a new sports discipline called plogging, which combines exercise with waste collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative consists of taking advantage of any physical activity in the open air to collect the waste found on the beaches, in the mountains or in the cities themselves.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This new sustainable discipline was born in Sweden and combines sport with care for the environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The more than 20,000 people who practice it every day, in more than 100 different countries, pick up the rubbish they find on the ground when they go out for a run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The word plogging comes from the Swedish plocka upp (to pick up) and the English jogging (to jog).<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The promoter of this activity was the Swede Erik Ahlstr\u00f6m, who, when he left his town in 2016 to settle in Stockholm, began to clean the places he frequented when he played sports. Soon after, his routine spread throughout Sweden through popular events and today, thanks to social networks, it is a global phenomenon that involves more than 20,000 people a day in more than a hundred countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is an activity that can be done individually, but it is more fun in a group, which is why the team at the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center in Valencia wanted to promote it among the minors we care for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, we work on sports with minors, doing quality physical exercise outside, but we also promote good environmental education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
